The cryptography part was rather easy. But the first part took me a long long time !

Each one has his own skills/preferences...

You can resolve the cryptography part relatively easily with the basic methods.
There is no trap here.

The challenge like this come to me much more easier than, for example, Character challenges, which are imho just about obfuscation But at this one there is no illogical point, and there is always clear what needs to be done. Perfect! One of the best for me at Lost-chall!

This first part is incredibly frustrating (or at least I'm pretty sure I'm still at the first part)... There's so many possibilities of what that other function could be.. I've guessed pretty much everything that comes to mind... Is this something I should figure out logically or is there some sort of hint I'm supposed to get from.. well... somewhere :S I hate getting stuck on things like this
